This past weekend I went on a last second trip to Sundance Film Festival. I’m currently working on a film documentary and thought I might get some extra inspiration by checking out the internationally acclaimed festival for independent films. Well, I went for one reason, God had me go for another.
I ended up getting a phone call from my prophet fried Bill Klekas who lives in Salt Lake City, Utah a few days before I left to the festival. He ended up opening up his beautiful home to me, Caleb and Heather (my two buddies) and we had a prophetic encounter like no other. During those 3 days there, we got to spend some good time hearing from the Holy Spirit for one another (iron sharpening iron) and I came away with a lot more clarity with my role and purpose in this season ministering in Hollywood and the entertainment field.
We also got to see some amazing films! Since we didn’t buy tickets in advance, we had to wake up early each morning to fight for extra tickets at the box office. It was tiring and a lot of fun!
Below is my first weekly column in East Week Magazine Hong Kong, China. It is a supernatural story of how I ended up writing in this major news magazine in Asia. Somehow, God always has a plan and purpose that He orchestrates to bring glory unto Himself. We just have to follow His plan and not our own. EAST WEEK #1
Some of you may be wondering as you are reading this column, who is Pastor Jaeson Ma and why does a pastor have an column in East Week magazine? The story behind me writing in this magazine is interesting and divine. You may have read about me in the HK newspapers and magazines in recent months for being the “in pastor” who has been preaching the Gospel to young people and artists a message of God’s love and forgiveness. Honestly, I am not very “in” at all, I’m just a regular (ABC) American Born Chinese who lives in California, loves God, pastors young people, makes rap music and likes to eat Chinese food more than American food.
Change has come, but before we can change the world, we must change ourselves. God help us all to be better men and women this day. Give us the courage to fight the good fight of faith, keep us in your ways, may we live our lives with integrity, honesty and compassion. Help us to help others who are in need of our help. Give us the will power to choose self discipline, to say yes to what is good, no to what is evil and to forge ahead with determination to execute Your mission. We can’t do this without You, we can’t do this without each other, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Lord bless our 44th President Barak Obama to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with His God. Examine his heart, guide him in your righteous right path, and keep him safe from harms way. Let us all support him in prayers daily, and may we believe for a better America, a better world till thy kingdom come. In Jesus name amen.

I thank God for each of you praying and supporting me these last 5 years of ministry with Campus Church Networks. I am writing this letter to share with you some exciting and awesome news.
When I began CCN 5 years ago, I had a passion to reach the next generation with the Gospel by planting student-led churches on every campus, every city and every nation for Christ. It started with a dream in my heart that was placed there by God. In the last 5 years we have seen campus churches planted on nearly 50 campuses in North America and over 200 campuses in East Asia. It has been a true joy to see the Great Commandment and the Great Commission being fulfilled through this ministry. I continue to thank God daily for all the souls that have been saved, the disciples made and the churches planted. I believed then and I will believe till the day I die that the campus is the greatest harvest and greatest mission field to reach for Jesus. If we can change the campus today, we can reach the world tomorrow!
I wanted to take this blog to honor my good friend and producer for my new music project “GLORY” — his name is KEVNISH. Some of you know him from the music crew FAR EAST MOVEMENT (www.fareastmovement.com). This brother is seriously one of the most amazingly talented, pure hearted, and faithful brothers I have ever met. Yesterday, 1/12/09 was his birthday. I remember the first time I met Kevnish was at their music video shoot for “You’ve Got a Friend” early on in 2008. Most of the time, when you meet a celebrity or someone popular they put up a front, but Kev was pure “humility” the first time we shook hands. I remember how he was telling one of his fans how he wanted to improve on his lyrical delivery and style, how thankful he was for their support and he just carried a spirit of gratitude.
