HELP JOHN CHEUNG GET HIS ARMS BACK, HE IS A TRUE BLESSING

This morning I went down to Santa Monica for their Sunday Farmers Market to have breakfast with some friends. Somehow, I found parking in this small parking lot right next to the food market. As I was walking hurriedly in to find my friends for breakfast… I saw a crippled man to my left in a wheel chair asking for money. I decided to turn around and find out his story and if I could somehow help…

Turns out, the young mans name is John Cheung. He is from Hong Kong and he actually speaks my native language of “Cantonese.” I asked him what his needs were and he told me that he was diseased with rheumatoid arthritis in its most extreme condition. He showed me his hands, his arms and how they were completely mangled. He told me that he has been begging for money for 3. 5 years now in Santa Monica every Sunday morning and elsewhere so that he can save enough money to have a surgery performed that would heal him. I asked him how much that surgery would cost. He told me $45,000.00. I then asked him how much more money does he need to get to that goal and he told me $27,000.00 … not impossible to come up with at all.

As we talked more, he had a deep sense of peace about him. He then told me that he was a Christian and many times as people offer to help him, he actually ends up helping others. He told me that he is at peace, happy and trusts in God that when the time is right God will heal him. His dreams and aspirations is to one day a missionary to China and to preach the Gospel to those who don’t know him there.

It was interesting, because before he told me this I prayed for him and God told me to tell him he would be a missionary to China one day, that his testimony would reach thousands and be seen and heard everywhere digitally and in home churches. As I told him this he kept saying, “Hallelujah!” over and over again. He had this deep sense of joy, peace and trust in God. I asked him at the end of our time of praying, after I had given him some money to give towards his surgery and almost talking for one hour…

John what is it that you would want others to know? He said… “That in order to win in life one must practice patience, keep faith and always pray.”

Honestly, John blessed me more today than I did for him. He showed me His love for God and others, simply by being an example of someone although crippled, someone who we would think has a horrible life, he actually had more joy, peace and love than most people I meet. This is proof to me that God’s love is real.

If you can, go out on a Sunday and find John Cheung at the Farmers Market in Santa Monica off of Ocean Park Dr and Main St. He will be there and I think you will be more blessed than you think… keep spreading the LOVE!

IN ORDER TO WIN LIFE ONE MUST HAVE PATIENCE, HOPE & PRAYER, JOHN CHEUNG...

IN ORDER TO WIN IN LIFE ONE MUST HAVE PATIENCE, FAITH & PRAYER, JOHN CHEUNG...

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I’m sure God will heal John, just like God healed my aunty. She had the same disease(but not as bad as John’s)and visited lots of doctor before she trusted in God. The last doctor she visited told her: I can’t heal you, you have to pray for God’s healing. She turned into christian & spreaded God’s love to our family since then.

Thanks to God for healing us, physically & mentally.

It is a blessing to be able to read about your acts of love everyday – thanks for showing God’s love to others and sharing the blessings with us readers. John Cheung is truly an example of a strong man of faith with a great passion for the Lord that we all need to learn from. I’m just a little sad that I can’t watch the video because it’s private.

To MWR, don’t be discouraged or hard on yourself. God doesn’t expect us to be perfect, He expects us to trust in His perfect love. the point of the 365 days of love is to do acts of kindness from our heart, not out of duty. if we fail, God still loves us the same cause its the motivation and heart that counts. Get back at loving tomorrow friend!

my dear JMA, if there is a way to collect fund for John, it only take 540 people to donate US$50 each to top the amount of US$27,000. Since you have friends all over the world, it is so easy to collect fund from all your friends (bros and sis). We just need to make sure the fund is collected and kept safely for paying his surgery. Is there any way? I’m sure it only take one day to find 540 people donate US$50. John’s arms can be healed immediately and God’s name be glorified immediatley.

    Jaeson,
I was at Newsong a few Sundays ago when you shared about your 365 days of love and also John’s story. I saw John yesterday at Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica and gave him some cash and told him that God loves him and that he’s a blessing to other people. Honestly, if I had not heard about his story from you, I probably wouldn’t have had the heart to give. I just want to let you know that it is extremely encouraging to hear your stories and that these small acts of kindness are going to blow up into huge movements. Keep it up and God bless!
