One reason I absolutely love being Chinese American is that I get to celebrate two new years.  I get to celebrate January 1^st New Years and I get to celebrate Chinese New Years. Of course, I kind of favor Chinese New Years over the other one because I get little red bags full of money, but more than that I get to experience a time of celebrating and spending time with family and relatives.

EAST WEEK #19 ~ “I LOVE MOM”

Some weeks ago, it was mother’s day and I had the chance to go back home and visit my beloved mom. I can never thank God enough for giving me the best mom in the world! Of course, everyone has the right to call their mom, the best mom on the planet, because all mothers deserve to have that title with all that they do for us.

Where would each of us be without our mom? The world would be lost without mothers who take care of us, love us and make us who we are. I think many times, we don’t appreciate our mother’s for all that they are and do for us. For me, I feel so ashamed thinking back to when I was a teenager and how I rebelled against my mother. I used to make my mother cry almost every day because of my bad behavior. She gave me advice, but I didn’t listen. She served me sacrificially, but I didn’t appreciate it. She prayed for me daily, but I only ignored her more. It was my pride that didn’t allow me to listen and learn from her.

Tonight was the first episode of “HAMMER TIME” the new A&E TV network reality TV show about MC HAMMER, his family, his life, his faith, his business, his music, his values, his everything… it was a most entertaining and inspirational show! Watching the show just brought back to me so many memories with everyone in that lovely family and community. I worked with and known MC Hammer for almost 10 years now. I consider him one of my greatest mentors, heroes and inspirations in my life. He is a spiritual dad to me who has taught me so much I didn’t know about myself, about God, about music, about business, but most of all “wisdom” … he is one of the wisest and most loving men of God I have ever known or met. If you just sat down with him and talked for even 30 minutes I guarantee that you would be changed, inspired and amazed. He is a GENIUS!  Hammer is a man full of WISDOM and the SPIRIT and just a cool man to be around!
