There’s an article I just got word of on www.allkpop.com a popular Korean Pop Culture site about me and my fellow soldier of light… Siwon Choi (Super Junior) read here. Just fyi I have been mentoring and ministering to Korean pop artists & media executives in that industry for the last past year. I can’t necessarily get into details, but I realized that God had called me into this movement about a year ago ever since there was a rise of celebrity suicides in 2008.
I will share the entire encounter some other time of how God sent me into Korea pop culture to spread His love and light to those in this influential industry. For those of you who do not follow KPOP culture… it is quite an amazing phenomenon. I call Seoul, Korea the new Hollywood of Asia in this decade… in the 80’s you had Hong Kong canto pop culture, in the 90’s you had JPOP or Japanese Pop culture arise, but in the millennium… most definitely Korean Pop Culture has taken center stage in influencing popular youth culture across Asia. From Korean Dramas (those ones that your mom and sisters are addicted to and cry daily from watching) to KPOP music which in my opinion is the most progressive and of excellence in production. But what is most fascinating is the die hard fan following phenomenon of Koreans that I have witnessed. The FANS ARE CRAZY… I mean they really worship and idolize celebrities and artists to a whole new level… they follow on twitter, they buy tickets months in advance, they vote, follow, emulate and support their every move, action and lifestyle…
EAST WEEK MAGAZINE COVERAGE ON ADDICTION TO PASSION
This past Saturday the glory of God came down at the Noah’s Ark as thousands of youth gathered from all over the city of Hong Kong to experience God’s presence and power. The night was electric, as we held a pop concert with my good friend MC Jin, Van Ness Wu, Sherman Chung, Sean from “JinuSean” and a powerful personal testimony from a young man who was delivered from a life of addiction to drugs. I came on at the end and performed LOVE and preached on being set free from addictions through the power of Jesus Christ! You could feel God’s presence so thick in the place. Every performance was dope, every artists that shared their faith from their heart was real and in the end thousands stood up to receive deliverance and salvation. I was so blessed because hundreds of youth were bused in from the poorest areas in the city who have been struggling with different kinds of addictions. So many received hope, healing and freedom through the power of the Cross and I know this is just the beginning of a love revolution that will sweep across the youth of Hong Kong and all of Asia. I’m looking forward to the next one!

All I have to say is, I’m proud of you brother for having the humility, honesty, love and courage to share your experience and relationship with God. Jin also made this new track “Welcome to the Light Club” … I wouldn’t label him a Christian rapper, he is simply a follower of Christ, who speaks from his heart and stays true to his passion. Respect that. Music is not Christian nor is it secular, music is music, Bethoven composed all of his masterpieces to be songs played unto God, yet we call his songs “classics” … “works of art”… “masterpieces” why? Because true music is only a “piece” given from the “Master” expressed through us to be played back to Him… it’s time for a new renaissance of music in our generation. Let’s make God beautiful again… we have no need to hide God in our art, they didn’t back then, why should we now, art is from God, music is from God, so lets create for the Creator and bring heaven a little closer to earth… music came from heaven … so if we make music… let it be LIGHT not darkness. Time to Shine Soldiers! SOL!!! (SOLDIERS OF LIGHT!!) LETS GO4GOD!

For many years, I’ve had a passion to make rap music. I started rapping in freestyle sessions and battles at the age of thirteen. I made my first underground rap tape when I was 17 years old. I started working for cultural icon and hip-hop legend MC Hammer at the age of 19. But, then I felt called in my early twenties to become a minister. I decided to go to Bible College and lay a strong spiritual foundation in my life, before pursuing a career in music and the arts. Without planning it, God led me to becoming a young preacher in my twenties to preach the Gospel on nearly every continent in the world to thousands upon thousands of young people. But, deep down in my heart, I knew I was called to rap, to make music, to fulfill a prophecy the Lord had given to me through my sister when I was 15 years old, that I would one day be used by God to pastor thousands of youth around the world, but also to be a rappers who’s music would touch the masses with God’s message. How would this happen?
