SPIRITUAL AWAKENING IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ~ NewSong Church LA!

This past Sunday I was given the honor to speak at NewSong Church (www.newsong.net) in Irvine California. For some believers today they would not believe that God’s presence and power could likely show up in a place like Orange County Ca, but this last Sunday many experienced the presence of God and came into a full on encounter with the power of the Holy Spirit!

I gave a message from Proverbs 2:1-11 on “SEEKING WISDOM” (above) and having a desperation for God’s Word, Voice and Presence in our lives. The response to the preached Word was supernatural. I’ve been in good relationship with the pastor of NewSong “Dave Gibbons” now for almost 2 years. I love his heart, his servant spirit and passion to bring about true change. For some time, the Lord had spoken to me that He was going to release an awakening and revival in Los Angeles like He had done in the past. LA is a seed bed for revival. Los Angeles has had more revivals and spiritual awakenings than any other major metropolitan city in the world in the past 100 years… from the Azusa Street Revival, Foursquare Healing revivals, Voice of Healing revivals, Billy Graham & Bill Bright evangelistic breakthroughs, the Jesus Movement that swept millions of hippies into the kingdom of God baptizing thousands on Southern California beaches, to the Calvary Chapel awakenings, Vineyard Church worship and divine healing renewals, to Harvest Rock church spiritual outpouring in the 90′s and others… LA is the home to spiritual awakenings. I believe if God did it before, He will do it again. Interestingly, I sense strongly in my spirit that He is going to break out through the NewSong Churches specifically in Southern California to the rest of the city and world… I shared with Pastor Dave months ago that at NewSong Church gatherings there would be a spiritual awakening and release of divine healing, signs, wonders and miracles turning many to repentance that would result in true transformation personally, corporately and into the cities… it would be similar to the Anaheim Vineyard Church worship renewal and divine healing revival.

This past Sunday as I was driving up to preach at the 3 morning services I was caught up in a vision in my car where I saw hundreds in each service rush to the altar weeping in deep repentance, then I saw the wind of the Holy Spirit literally blow through the building and then push people towards the altar to seek the Lord, then I saw divine healings break out and words of knowledge released, uncovering the secrets of people’s hearts and turning them back to the Lord in revival power.

What happened at the services went beyond my expectations. The spiritual atmosphere was already prepared before I even got there. After I preached in the first service many rushed to the altar with tears of repentance and a hunger to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Lord then moved in the second service even stronger as hundreds came to the altar on their knees seeking God’s presence. The presence of God was so thick you felt as if heaven at that moment had touched down to earth. People were lingering at the altar weeping in repentance, hungering for the baptism of the Holy Spirit and were not leaving the threshing floor until they had received a touch from God on high. The Spirit kept moving across the room so that there was no break between the second and third services… the glory of God was increasing. As I preached into the third service I gave a word of prophecy from the stage….”In this service the Lord showed me many of you will hear God’s voice for the first time, words of knowledge will be released disclosing the secrets of your heart and many will receive divine healing.”

After the third service, some very interesting miracles began to break out. Again, people flooded the altar in weeping, repentance and a desperate seeking of the Lord’s power in their lives. I then had a word of knowledge that there was a man who had gotten into a car accident the night before, the front went out and he nearly died, the Enemy wanted to take him out, but the Lord saved him for a higher purpose and that he needed to turn fully to God and answer His call… then I knew the Lord was going to heal the sick so I told them how the Anaheim Vineyard movement started when Pastor John Wimber decided to be faithful to obeying James 5:13-16 to pray for the sick in every church service…

¹³Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. ¹⁴Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. ¹⁶Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

I declared and prophesied that a divine healing anointing and spiritual awakening would erupt at NewSong as it would be come a new center of revival in Los Angeles where people would come from Nth, Sth, East and West and from all over the world to encounter the presence of God and receive healing in Jesus name if they would be faithful to pray for the sick & for the salvation of souls. I then asked those who needed a touch of healing from God to come to the altar as the worship continued forth…

While many were being prayed for all of a sudden my right forearm began to hurt in a unbearable way. I thought my right arm had suddenly broke! It felt like my ligaments were crossed over one another and my arm was completely being mangled. It hurt so bad I had to go to the back of the room as I was almost in tears… I thought to myself, “How did I hurt my arm?” Then I heard the Holy Spirit say to me, “You did not break your arm, it is my sign to you that there is someone in the room who has a broken/damaged arm, you need to call this word of knowledge out and the person will be instantly healed and it will release faith for healing to others.” I realized then that it was not my arm hurting, but another person in the crowd. I finally got to the stage and released this word to the congregation. I said, “Someone here their right forearm has been broken and the ligaments have been torn/damaged whoever this person is raise your left hand and the Lord will heal you!” Immediately, there was a man at the altar who rose his hand. When I saw his right forearm it was bent sideways and he told me that it was damaged badly and has not worked properly since the accident. He constantly feels pain and can’t barely move his arm. I prayed for him and commanded healing to come to his arm in Jesus name. I asked if he felt anymore pain? He said, “No I don’t feel any more pain in my arm!” I said, “Look this isn’t psychology so please tell those here honestly if there is seriously no pain?” He said, “No, really there is no pain at all where usually there constantly is.” I then told him to move it in a way he couldn’t move it before and he started to move his arm back and forth as it straightened out before the congregations eyes. People were astonished and began clapping and praising God for his healing! At the moment I knew the faith level in the room had gone up and anyone who would be prayed for would be able to receive a healing from God… people began to rush the altar asking for healing prayer. What happened next was surreal as our prayer team anointed the sick with oil and prayed prayers of faith for healing. From what we know, every person that was prayed for was healed, including broken bones being healed, a deaf ear opening, backs straightening and many others…

The Spirit of God continued to move in divine healing power and radical repentance as the congregation stayed at the altar under the anointing. Seldom, have I seen in the US the kind of open heaven we experienced that morning, more so in Asia where I preach in revivals, but in Orange County Ca of all places? Surely, God was in our midst!

As we ministered healing, Pastor Dave came up to me and brought with him a special man. He told me excitedly this man was the one who got into a car accident the night before and almost died. His front wheels had gone out and the car nearly spun out of control but somehow he managed to live. This man was a key business man in the church and Dave’s close friend. We laid hands on him, prophesied over his destiny and destroyed the assignment of the enemy against his life. The Lord again confirmed that He was doing a new work of the Spirit in this community.

After the ministry, I received an email from a friend who was at the service that confirmed my vision on the way driving over to NewSong that a wind of the Holy Spirit had been blowing in the meeting that day as in the days of Pentecost…

Amazing worship n word today! My wife told me she felt the holy spirit movin around like a breeze n pushing many towards the alter.

Then another member of the Church testified to me, without me mentioning about this wind of the Spirit that he was sitting in the service when he felt a gush of wind come over his neck from the left side behind him where he was sitting. He thought someone had turned on the air conditioner, but realized there was nothing coming from the vent. Then he felt another gush of wind come and blow on him from his left side, then another gush of wind hit him front and center… that is when he realized it was the wind of the Holy Spirit blowing upon the gathering in revival… for the Holy Spirit is like a wind blowing and we know not where it goes but we can see its effects. So it was that morning at NewSong Church.

I believe these signs, wonders and miracles that confirm the preaching of the Gospel (Mark 16) are only a inkling of what the Holy Spirit is about to pour out in Southern California… Pray for NewSong Church as the Lord is releasing a “new thing” and an outpouring of His Holy Spirit like never before…. may God send revival to Los Angeles once again until all of this land is healed , until the city is shaken, until souls are saved en mass, until the darkness is turned to light, until the last, the lost and the least are taken care of, sheltered and made whole, until all of Hollywood is awakened by the Spirit of Truth and God redeems and releases the gift of Los Angeles to be a blessing for the Gospel unto the whole world… Come Holy Spirit!
